OMZ Foundry Production to manufacture equipment for pressworking of rocket engine parts

OMZ Foundry Production, a part of OMZ Group, is to manufacture equipment for pressworking of rocket engine parts, ordered by the Khrunichev State Space Scientific and Production Facility.

OMZ Foundry Production has started development and manufacturing of model kits to produce four Matrix and Poinson castings made of superalloyed corrosion-resistance steel 06H15N6MVFBL. This complex steel alloy includes wolfram, niobium and vanadium.

There are not the first parts manufactured by OMZ Foundry Production for the Khrunichev State Space Scientific and Production Facility. In December 2010 the company has shipped 20GSL steel pressworking kit to the largest Russian spacecraft production center.

OMZ Foundry Production aims to do the casting on the jubilee of the first manned spaceflight.

Khrunichev State Space Scientific and Production Facility was created on June 7 1993 by the presidential decree, merging two largest Russian space industry companies, Khrunichev plant and Salyut Design Bureau. Currently the center comprises the leading Russian liquid fuel rocket engine manufacturers, working on engines for Soyuz-TM, Progress, Proton, Angara and Rus rockets.

OMZ Group is one of the leading heavy industry companies specializing in engineering, production, sales and service support of equipment for nuclear, oil and gas, mining industries, as well as special steel production and industrial services. OMZ Group’s facilities are located in Russia and Czech Republic. The Group is controlled by Gazprombank.
