RUSAL nominates candidates to Norilsk Nickel Board of Directors

RUSAL the world’s largest aluminium producer and owner of a 25% stake in MMC Norilsk Nickel, announces its list of candidates to the Board of Directors of MMC Norilsk Nickel for the voting at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on 11 March 2011.

RUSAL is nominating the following candidates to be independent directors:

* Lucian Bebchuck – Doctor of Law, Head of Corporate Governance Board at Harvard Law School;
* Alexander Voloshin – Member of the Board of Directors of Yandex, Chairman of the board of JSC ‘Uralkali’, Chairman of the Board of MMC Norilsk Nickel in 2008-2010;
* Terence Wilkinson – Member of the Board of Directors of Angara Mining Plc, former CEO of Ridge Mining Plc, former COO of Lonmin plc.

RUSAL is nominating the following representatives to serve on the new Board of Directors of Norilsk Nickel:

* Oleg Deripaska, CEO of UC RUSAL;
* Maxim Sokov, Director for Strategy and Corporate Development of UC RUSAL;
* Artem Volynets, CEO of En+ Group;
* Nathaniel Rothschild, non-executive director of the Board of Directors of En+ Group.
