OMZ Special Steels launches new heat-treating furnace

OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, has commissioned the new vertical heat-treating furnace.

The new furnace is designed to perform heat treatment of billets made of traditional and emerging high-chromium steels with tempering temperature up to 1150°C. The equipment meets all modern standards and requirements relating to new generation vertical furnaces (accuracy of temperature control is ±5°C, the rate of heating and cooling is 80°C/h). The furnace will produce heat-treated products with a diameter of up to 3.5 m and length of up to 12 m.

Total amount of investment in the project constitutes 106 million roubles.

Furnace equipment is manufactured by Bosio company (Slovenia), installation and equipment supply is performed by Prompech (Bosio’s affiliate in Russia), construction works are carried out by specialized organizations under the leadership of CJSC Forpost-management.
