Electrometallurgical plant in Mariupol is planned to be built in two years
A new electrometallurgical plant will be constructed in Mariupol over the next two years, providing jobs for over 2,000 people, according to the city’s mayor, Oleg Morgun.
The plant, with an estimated investment of 30 billion rubles, was announced by Mr. Morgun on the sidelines of the Integration-2025 forum in Rostov-on-Don, as reported by TASS.
"Behind the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, construction of a new metallurgical plant is underway. It is progressing at such an accelerated pace that it should be completed within two years, creating jobs for over 2,000 citizens," Mr. Morgun stated.
He added that the project’s investment volume is estimated at 30 billion rubles.
Regarding the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works itself, Mr. Morgun noted that the facility was not severely damaged during the hostilities. "With the availability of the required amount of electricity in the city, it will also resume operations, with plans to create up to 12,000 jobs there," he said.
