Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works Named after Kuzmin to Invest 40 mln Rubles into Ecological Projects

Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works Named after Kuzmin will invest 40 mln rubles into projects aimed at increase of ecological safety. According to the press service of Estar Management Company, this is almost 5 times more as compared to 2006. This year the works plans to invest a considerable amount into set up of a circulating water system to prevent runoffs from getting into the Ob river.

The following projects will be carried out at the works in the nearest future: building of a pure circulating cycle of the piston compression station; changing the water system of the high pressure pumping station of the hot rolling mill for the clarified circulating water system with set up high purity filters; building of the local purification system of the dirty circulating cycle with a possibility to use a 30 meter radial settler; changing the technology of neutralization of acid runoffs and prevention from their discharging into the Ob river.

Carrying out of these projects will enable to reduce the amount of used water 50% and to reduce the discharge of polluting runoffs into the river 80%. To protect the air, an inspection of the foam gas and dust purifier ГОУ НТА №4 will be carried out at the pickling section of the cold rolling mill whereas the 3-zone heating of the continuous furnace of the hot rolling mill has been changed for the 4-zone metal heating. This will also enable to reduce air pollution 10%.
