Basic Element Announces Establishment of the Aviation Sector

Development of transport infrastructure is one of Basic Element’s key priorities.  At the beginning of 2007 Basic Element announced creation of the Infrastructure Sector which focuses on building bridges, roads and other objects of infrastructure.  In order to bring best international technologies, in the Spring Basic Element entered into agreement to purchase a 30 percent share in the Austrian company Strabag, a European leader in building bridges, roads and tunnels, and bought a 10 percent stake in the German company Hochtief, a global leader in construction and management of airports.


The new – seventh – Aviation Sector is headed by Rano Dzhuraeva, who previously worked as Business Development Director of East Line.  She managed over 30 projects establishing and developing Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
Rano Dzhuraeva’s priority tasks include strengthening her management team and improvement of existing airport facilities in order to increase their capacity and quality of passenger service.  In the next two to three years the company plans to spend $500 million to rebuild the four airports that it currently manages.

Basic Element’s Aviation Sector includes four airports in the South of Russia - Sochi, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik and Anapa.
