Severgal has Produced Half a Million Tons of Hot-Dip Galvanized Rolled Products

The galvanizing line was started up at Severgal in December 2005. In September 2006 it reached its design capacity. The first sheet for inner parts of the body of the vehicle was produced on the Severgal galvanizing line in March 2006 and was dispatched to AvtoVAZ. The first sheet for outer parts of the body of the vehicle was produced in June 2006.

Severgal is one of the key suppliers of hot-dip galvanized rolled products to AvtoVAZ. Besides, the company implements projects on developments of cooperation with international enterprises such as Ford, Renault, Toyota established in Russia. Besides supplying for the automotive industry, Severgal supplies steels to Severstal polymer coating plant.

Today Severgal together with Severstal Center for Technical Development and Quality adjust technologies to start up production of new steel grades that hold much promise. Thus, Severgal in cooperation with Center for Technical Development and Quality have prepared technical documentation for mastering of high-strength steels. Severgal in cooperation with VNIICHERMET and Center for Technical Development and Quality work over a possibility to produce on Severgal facilities two-phase steels used in the automotive industry.
