Izhorskiye Zavody successfully completed acceptance tests of hydro cracker unit for TANEKO

Izhorskiye Zavody, a part of OMZ Group, had successfully completed acceptance tests of a R0101 hydro cracker unit for the new OAO TANEKO advanced oil processing facility in Nizhnekamsk. The contract for two reactors was signed in 2007.

The hydro cracker unit is an unique unit, featuring a diameter of over 5 meters, length of 35 meters, weight of 1200 tons and wall thickness of 295 mm. Such equipment was never produced for the petrochemical industry in Russia before.

R0101 hydro cracker reactor was designed and manufactured in full accordance with the ASME Code and Russian standards for petrochemical equipment.

The licenser for the project is Chevron Lummus Global, one of the largest power companies in the world.

Development of the design and technological documentation, conducted at Izhorskiye Zavody, was coordinated both with Chevron Lummus Global and Fluor Corporation, which manages the OAO TANEKO project in Nizhnekamsk. Specialists of Fluor Corporation were overseeing the manufacturing process and had confirmed that all necessary quality requirements were met at all production stages.

It should be noted that several new technologies were developed during reactor manufacturing, including large slab smelting from chrome-molybdenium-vanadium steels, forging of large shells, primary and after-welding thermal processing, as well as weld leads of up to 300 mm thickness. Technologies for out-of-furnace thermal processing of side welds.

The acceptance committee, comprising, besides the Izhorskiye Zavody specialists, representatives of OAO TANEKO and Rostehnadzor, had acknowledged the conformance of the reactor to design documentation and signed it off for delivery.

R0101 hydro cracker unit will be shipped to OAO TANEKO in Nizhnekamsk in the nearest future, as soon as navigation opens on the Volga-Baltic channel.

Currently Izhorskiye Zavody are finishing the production of the second hydro cracker unit, R0102, fully similar to the first one. It will be also shipped to the customer in the nearest future.
