Acroni to be first industrial company to be SIST EN 16001 certified

On March 15 Acroni, SIJ – The Slovenian Steel Group, became the first industrial company, and only the second company in the whole of Slovenia, to be officially SIST EN 16001 certified (Energy Management Systems). At the beginning of 2011 an external certification audit was carried out by TЬV Sava, which certified ACRONI as having appropriate organisation of its energy efficiency and being compliant with the requirements of the SIST EN 16001 standard. Duљan Novkoviи, head of the professional team of Acroni, and the Energy Manager of the Year, explains: “The main purpose of energy management is the establishment of the systems and procedures necessary to improve energy efficiency, which contributes to reducing energy-related costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The SIST EN 16001 system is carefully integrated and connected with the other systems ISO 9001 and 14001, as well as OHSAS 18001, which have already been acquired and successfully maintained by Acroni for several years.”
