Steel Capital S.A. closes issue of loan participation notes

On 26 July 2011 Steel Capital S.A. with the registered office at 2, Boulevard Konrad Adenauer, L-1115 Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has announced the successful closing and issuance of its US $500 mln at 6.25 % loan participation notes due on 26 July 2016 (Regulation S ISIN Code: XS0648402583, Rule 144A ISIN Code: US85805RAA68) under its US$3 000 000 000 Loan Participation Note Programme. The Notes have been issued for the purpose of financing a loan to OAO Severstal. OAO Severstal intends to apply the borrowed funds primarily for the refinancing of its indebtedness under domestic bonds in the total amount of RUR15 billion due in September 2011, and for other general corporate purposes. The Notes are expected to be admitted to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday, 27 July 2011.
