Casting and Rolling Complex OMK & Vyksa Steel Works summed up the operational results for September and 9 months of 2011

Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK) estimated the outlook of industrial activity in September and the first 9 months of 2011. Since the beginning of 2011, VSW has produced more than 1.4 million tubes of various sizes, including 890 thousand tons of large diameter pipes, which corresponds to the same period last year.

Wheel complex VSW produced 580 k railroad wheels, which is 23% more compared to the first 9 months of 2010 (470 k wheels). In September 2011 the company produced 136k tons of pipes of various sizes, including 75 k tons of large diameter pipes. Production of railway wheels reached 67.5 k has (+ 11.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2010).

Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, OMK-Steel Subsidiary in the Vyksa District, Nizhniy Novgorod Region) during January-September 2011 increased the production of hot rolled coils to 11% over the same period last year - up to 777 k tons. Also, since the beginning of the year 130 k tons of steel sheets and 154 k tons of strips were produced.

In September 2011 Casting and Rolling Complex produced 56 k tons of hot rolled coils, 6 k tons of steel sheets and 11 k tons of strips. During the same period 63 k tons were shipped to consumers. Oleg Fedotov Director of OMK-Steel, JSC (CRC), reported that the planned overhaul of the foundry and rolling facilities was held on September 1- 12, 2011.
