A Chinese company plans to build an aluminum complex in Russia
Chansu Aluminium Company exploring opportunities for building complex for the production of alumina and primary aluminum in Russia, said a company spokesman.

According to him, as potential regions for the complex placing is the Eastern Siberia and the Far East. Although they havent large bauxite deposits, such localized in the Komi Republic, there is a small object, the development of which can be profitable for the group scheme mining. In addition, in some regions are rich in natural gas, so the problems with the supply of the enterprise they are not expected.

The capacity has not yet been determined, but according to the spokesman of Chansu Aluminium, it will be no less than 500 thousand tons of primary aluminum per year, most of which will be shipped to customers in China and South East Asia. Chansu Aluminium also study the question of the organization of its subsequent processing into aluminium flat rolled products and profiles for deliveries to Russian consumers.

By the way, Chinese companies did not build metallurgical plants abroad before, preferring to buy deposits and mines. Now, apparently, the strategy of development has significantly changed and they want to build mettalurgical workses in Russia.
